Escribe Aquí / Write Here
Escribe Aquí / Write Here is an initiative that honors the diversity of writing in various languages by honoring writers and thinkers working at the intersection of cultural experience and thought. Convening to celebrate their own journeys to become global creators, working to transcend the notions of a dominant society that perceives ‘others’ as having a singular voice, The Betsy has a soft spot for such explorations at the intersection of Spanish and Anglo culture.
Funded with a seed grant from The John S. and James L, Knight Arts Challenge Program, the program is now fully institutionalized at The Betsy Hotel and continues all year long, every year.
Miami-based, Escribe Aquí Writer, Pablo Cartaya directs this program.
