I.W. Gregorio ( – November 2016

She is the author None of the Above is a novel by I. W. Gregorio is a practicing urologist and author. Her book was published in 2015 about an adolescent intersex girl, Kristin, who discovers she has an intersex condition shortly after becoming Homecoming Queen.

G. Neri ( – January 2017

Greg Neri is an African American author who has the pen name G. Neri, and is known for his work in young-adult fiction. He has written in free-verse (Chess Rumble, Hello I’m Johnny Cash), novelistic prose (Tru & Nelle, Ghetto Cowboy, Knockout Games,Surf Mules), and for graphic novels (Yummy).

Pablo Cartaya – – (Feb/March with MDCPS and FIU)

Cartaya’s series will unfold over the next two years. THE EPIC FAIL OF ARTURO ZAMORA, (Viking Children’s Books/Penguin Random House, 2017) Pablo holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, a BA from Loyola Marymount University and currently serves as lead faculty for at Sierra Nevada College’s low residency MFA in the Writing for Children and Young Adults track. He directs the WYR program at The Betsy Hotel.

Kathi Appelt ( – April 2017

Kathi is a two-time National Book Award finalist, a Newberry Honor winner and the author of more than 30 books. She writes novels, picture books, poetry, and nonfiction for children and young adults. Her books have been translated into several languages: Spanish, Chinese, French and Swedish. She would be a phenomenal WYR addition for National Poetry Month and is widely considered an elder statesperson in the field of children’s literature.
