Edouard Duval-Carrié is a prominent, internationally acclaimed Haitian-born contemporary painter, sculptor, and curator based in Miami, Florida. Born in Port-au-Prince in 1954, his family fled the dictatorial regime of François “Papa Doc” Duvalier during his teenage years. This displacement led him to live in Puerto Rico, New York, Montreal, and Paris before settling in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood. His profound, multifaceted art blends Caribbean history, politics, and the complex cosmology of Haitian Vodou into a distinct form of magical realism.

Mr. Duval-Carrié is presented in partnership with The Betsy Writer's Room, FIU Public Humanities Lab and with support from The Jorge Perez Family Foundation CreARTE Grant.

His retrospective exhibition, "From Venice with Love" will be on view in our Gallery and B Bar through September 2026.
