M.Z. Daskal is an award-winning writer whose work has appeared in New Letters, New England Review, Grist, and Jabberwock Review. Her debut novel, The Teacher of Lost Orphans, draws on archival research and was inspired by her Holocaust-survivor grandparents, who married in the Cyprus internment camps in 1947. The novel is the first to explore the Cyprus internment camps, a critical yet often forgotten chapter of Jewish post-WWII history. She teaches creative writing in Arizona, where she lives with her husband and two sons.
